All true Christian service begins with sacrifice.....

In each of our lives there may come a time when we alone can make a difference; where we can contribute a small part toward a significant whole. As faithful, compassionate image bearers displaying God's generousity you can partner with us to make a difference in people's lives. Whether providing opportunities for life-changing counseling or food, shelter and education for street children in Vietnam, your seemingly small insignficant contributions can make a significant difference in our overall effectiveness.

We are limited financially in bringing life-changing programs to others outside our immediate surroundings. Would you please consider helping us. We are also seeking contact with foundations, trusts and corporations which may be interested in helping fund this work. If you might consider a grant application from us, or know someone who would, please write us.

We believe all that God does on the earth is by invitation, though prayer. We call on men and women everywhere to lift their hands in prayer and fierce intercession on behalf of the Kingdom of God. We welcome and covet your prayers. We believe the "supply of the Spirit" comes through prayer and that nothing good or lasting is done apart from the Spirit's involvement. The following illustrates how great things are accomplished by the combination of many small acts.

In the city of Rangoon, where the largest and finest temple bell in the East had been sunk in the river during one of the battles in the Anglo-Burma War, efforts by various engineers failed to raise it. At last a clever priest asked to make the attempt on condition that the bell be given to his temple. He had his assistants gather an immense number of bamboo rods. These hollow, light, buoyant rods can scarcely be kept from floating on the water. The bamboo rods were taken down one-by-one by divers and fastened to the bell. After many thousands of them had been secured, it was noticed that the bell began to move. When the last bamboo rod was added, the buoyancy of the accumulated rods was so great they lifted the enormoust mass of bronze from the silt and mire of the river bottom and bore it to the surface.

Faith-filled prayer can lift the heaviest burdens. Every whisper of a believing prayer, for a time, can seem to be in vain, but there comes a time when the last breath of believing supplication and intercession meets God's requirements. At that moment the balance is tipped. Things change. Please release faith-filled prayer on our behalf and on behalf of those we serve. _Howard Olsen
